Passover 2013

Mom and I spent Monday of Passover cooking, and by far the most fun part was peeling the blanched almonds.  Those are slippery little buggers.. and there were many jokes-that-make-girls-giggle over the 45 minutes it took to peel 3 cups of almonds.  The almond meringue cookies were worth it, though!
Zeric made a fantastic roast leg of lamb that spent about 18 hours in the oven. We had three baked chickens, matzoh ball soup, a big salad, and homemade gifilte fish with capers and lemon. We made apricot-almond-apple-ginger charoset, and Passover chocolate cake.  We were stuffed!

Our friends Jacqueline and Marc joined,
Emilie and Elena from next door,
and Shaula and Paul and their son Felix.

Shaula brought the 10 plagues finger puppets that were a hit--especially with Marc!

We were really happy to have Memere and so many friends at the table, though we sure did miss the other Breslars.  Memere was lucky--she had the first night with us, and the last night in Fairfax with the rest of her kids!!
