We were really happy to have had the time to see Ayan and her family for sushi again! We missed Maya and Louis this time, but we did some more catching up after having been out west and back. We were super excited to hear more news about the forthcoming new addition to the family...
...who has since arrived. Welcome Mina!!
We also met Ryan and Ben at (very smartly) their school playground, so the boys could catch up--as boys do running and playing and tackling and throwing wood chips at each other. Eben and Ryan were best friends our first year here in Jakarta (American solidarity at the French school), and Ryan since moved back to Virginia. Ben and Eben were at the JCC pre-school together when they were 2/3 years old. As small world stories go, Ben and Ryan were in the same class last year in Virginia, realizing it a few weeks before school started when they and their parents met at Eben's birthday party in the summer 2012. This summer, we got to hear all about how the year went!
