HP

There has been a craze in our house.. ever since we "prepped" ourselves for the England/Scotland castle visits by watching all 8 o the Harry Potter movies, it's been relentless.  And so we had to have a party.  It was only fair, really, and FAIR is a very important rule to live by when you are 8.  You see, it was Jaffa's half-birthday (September 23rd to be precise), and she needed a party because Eben has two a year.  Because her big one is on her real birthday, we agreed that a small one could be on her half birthday day.  And it was Harry Potter themed. Honestly?  I wasn't ready. BUT - it's amazing how much there is on the internet from moms who have thrown HP parties.

So, we ended up with 6 kids and three great activities:
- decode the HP words: like how he-who-cannot-be-named moved the letters of his name around to spell V...)
- make your own wand: which included going outside and searching for the right stick
- potions: name each of the ingredients a good potion ingredient name, then mix them into your yogurt..and eat! (see picture above... this included chocolate chips, sprinkles, cereal, sugars, etc)

All of this followed by two HP movies, make your own pizzas, and angel food cake.
I was exhausted by the time it was over, but I had some very happy witches and a happy wizard. Phew.
