So, we were about to hit the road back north to Paris, and hey - why not? Let's stop and check out a castle along the way. We spent a couple of hours looking around.. it was very cool!
It wasn't Versailles (we're saving that for our next trip, along with the catacombs-remember-to-show-up-at-9:00-or-you'll-never-get-in, and getting up the Eiffel Tower-buy-tickets-online-BEFORE-you-get-on-the-plane-to-France), because Monsieur Rambutin got himself into a pile of trouble writing a book about all of the kadoodling that was happening in the king's court. It--OF COURSE--got into the wrong hands, and there he went.. exiled to Burgundy. Could be worse.
So, he built himself a little place to hang out.
some family portraits, and other people he liked
(like Benjamin Franklin)
this wall was called 'all of the King's girlfriends'
Pretty good neighborhood
And he had his own MAZE!! (shhhhh.. it was grown (?) in the 1990s.. but it sure felt like it belonged there) and by the way.. the girls rocked it.. we won getting through the maze.. and helped the lost boys get through too!
