So for the last number of months, Jaffa and Eben have been taking swimming lessons with Kat once a week. Kat is a serious instructor who charges serious money for that precious half hour in the pool. Eben has been learning to swim, has shed his floaties, and has been brave in the deep end. Jaffa has been getting there.
And then Wednesday happened.
It was lesson as usual, only this time I bribed the kids with the Valentines lollipops that memere sent (thanks, mem!), so they were slightly more attentive and cooperative.
Once the lesson was over, they wanted to head to the kiddie pool for a minute. Fine. Eben wanted his goggles. Fine. Then I pointed out how much he would be able to see IN THE WATER if he took a deep breath like this and put his eyeballs in the whole way. And he did. Then he put his whole head in. Then Jaffa wanted her goggles, and she copied. Then they decided to do it at the same time so they could look at each other. I have video (but it would take me 8 hours to upload). So, here are some stills:
The swimmers, strolling home...comparing notes on underwater adventures.
Stay tuned for the blog on triple pike back flip dives ;)
