One of our partners, Kemitraan http://www.kemitraan.or.id/index.php/main/home, hosted Peduli Day at the national museum. Peduli is the name of our program; peduli means "cares" in Indonesian. The morning session was a panel discussion with a number of government officials and heads of organizations that work on social inclusion issues. It was moderated by a former news broadcaster, and included a lot of audience participation--in particular from those people who are implementing Peduli in remote locations of Indonesia. It was a very powerful session, bringing attention to this good work.
After the panel and just before lunch, there was a dance performance by some women from an organization, SWARA, that we support in Jakarta. These transgender ladies did a great job shaking it!! They were beautiful!
