Peaceful Bali

Thanks to a friend of ours with a great recommendation, we are staying in down a long road outside of the main part of Ubud town in the middle of some rice fields, in a place called Sugars Villas.  Our host is a fantastic guy named Nyoman who runs these three bunglaows and a restaurant with a few friends and some of his family.  It's lovely.  And peaceful.  And they make a mean tomato soup. Just what we were looking for.

There are fish in the ponds.. no sharks, though the kids are convinced there are.  Jaffa fell in this morning and didn't get eaten, so that was a relief!  There are visiting ducks, lots of ants, a fantastic vernada, lots of geckos, wonderful night noises...

The kids are allowed to fish the fish, then throw them back.. and guess who gets the honor of unhooking them to throw them back in - yup, the closest and fastest big person around!
We know this is a good place where we are safe because Nyoman's mom does her offerings and blessings every morning, and lights incense.

...and what could be better than a great pool?  We've spent a lot of time playing in it, especially after long, hot walks in town.  We love it here!  The kids want to stay, if we can ship more of our toys from Jakarta.
