There are museums here in Jakarta, but they are quite different from the ones we've been spoiled with in Washington. So, we decided to go check out Miro in the NGA's East wing. There were a couple of fun things to see in the museum along the way..including a waterfall..
and some Star Wars lights..
and a few gift shops full of very fun things, including knight/king/dragon figures that were (surprisingly) super expensive.. but fun to play with on the spot. And leave in compromising positions.
We got to the art.. and illegally played on it. Oops.
Then got to Miro and ran around with joy..
.. and then we learned a lot but weren't allowed to take pictures. The exhibit was work from his whole life, with all kinds of interesting creatures whose titles didn't quite match what we thought they were. The kids took mental notes about recreating some of the best ones. We discouraged them from burning their canvases.
Finally, we visited with the royal court.
It was a good time.
