Student-led conferences

At The American School of Kinshasa (TASOK), student-led conferences are
held on a school day where we go and spend time in the classrooms when our kids
tell us all about what they've been doing. The teachers are there if you have specific questions,
but it's the kids that tell you about their learning and take you through their work from
the last trimester. We visit all the classes.

Our last stop was gym. There, the kids could take the parents through the
warm up videos they do in class (sometimes). This one was Kung Fu fighting..
Eben and I cheered them on from the sideline!

Finally, we tried some archery..
we might need a  little more practice!

Zeric's trip to the Kivus

Piled high

You need to look carefully at the car in front of us, see:
- the height of the car relative to the other cars on the road
- the clearance between the bumper and the road
- the amount of stuff in the trunk and on the roof
- the guy sitting on the roof holding the stuff from falling off the back

Eben's first challah

He smelled things baking from his bedroom (on a school night, of course)
and came down to check it out. He decided he wanted to try braiding challah..
a very good first try!

Friends and cake! What more do you need?

Zeric wanted German chocolate, I decided to get decadent and made a Twinkie cake :)
