Christmas cookies

It's not Christmas if you haven't decorated cookies!
And these were particularly yummy ones :)

Powderhorn fun!

We had a great time playing in the snow at Powderhorn! The boys skied. The girls started to learn to snowboard, AND made snow angels and snow women. We loved getting in our snow sports and very much enjoyed the great powder and the beautiful views.. AND the good company ;)

eating (pure white) snow!

Hiking on Serpents Trail and in the Devil's Kitchen

What beautiful scenery! We had a great time hiking and playing on the trails. Eben seemed to find all of the small patches of snow so that he could nail us with snowballs..

Hello Grand Junction!

Leaving Blu to snuggle with Uncle Reuben, we headed to Colorado to see Grammie, Aunt Tammy and Uncle Mark. We had a great time!

There was ice cream..

... and more museums..

.. hugs from Grammie..

.. and some good hanging out!

We love museums

And so we visited a few.. starting with Natural History where the Smiths found their caveman roots.

Then, the National Gallery's East Wing...

...and the Portrait Gallery where Eben saw Miro (flashback to carnival at the French school circa February 2016 when he had to wear that fantastic hat that he hated in the spirit of Miro).

Jaffa decided to be her own portrait.

And the Hirshorn Gallery

where we bumped into Mr Mueck's big people again.. and we remembered seeing the exhibit at the Cartier Foundation a few years ago..

This was our favorite exhibit, and a friend of Uncle Reuben's!

Then finally, performance art! some twanging in D minor (that could be heard through the whole museum!). It was interesting to think about how the one chord did not match what we expected to be haring with the dress and the gold shimmering tinsel.. which, of course, was the point!

good friends

It goes without saying that we were so happy to have some time with good friends!
