Sunday before Memere left, we had an adventure out to Lac Rose (Pink Lake). Apparently we missed
the pink part.. the wind and the sun have to be just right.. and THEN you see it.
We didn't see it.
Instead, we ladies had a really nice lunch with a nice view. We got out of Dakar and just enjoyed
ourselves. These are some of my favorite ladies in the world <3 It was Memere, Jaffa, Aissatou,
Kady and Kady's daughter Morjale. Aissatou was my boss in Kin, and is like a big sister to me. Kady
was Dad's secretary in Mali; she was brand new to USAID and she says that Dad was the best boss
she ever had. It was a terrific afternoon.
I'm really glad we squished in the car and braved the roads to do it!
