Mani/Pedi for girl.. and boy

In celebration of Jaffa's kicking the fingernail-biting habit (that took me 38 years to accomplish, and is still a work in progress), I scheduled a mani/pedi visit for her at the salon in our complex. It's really rough having a spa a two-minute walk from our house.  You should come see for yourself.

When Eben heard about it, he decided he wanted to have it done too.. even though his friend Ryan said that only girls get their nails painted.  He decided to risk humiliation.

Today was the big day..

Ibu Rima and Ibu Yetti were very patient with tiny nails and lots of wiggles.. and then.. when each kid chose THREE colors and had an opinion about the pattern in which they were applied, the ladies just smiled.  I know what they were thinking... we bule (boolay, the Indonesian word for crazy foreign people) and Indonesians alternately think it about each other:  those people are just nuts
The kids tried sooo hard to be patient through three coats of paint and drying time,
and the results were beautiful!
